Eric Kaye – Bio

After receiving a degree in filmmaking from Wesleyan University, I made  a conscious decision not to become a filmmaker, although my experience as a lighting cameraman continues to influence my lighting design aesthetic.  Instead, I became a finish carpenter and woodworker. It eventually became clear my real interest lay in designing the kitchens, bathrooms, and additions I was building.  That lead me quite naturally to interior design.

Having designed the interiors of numerous stores and restaurants, thousands of square feet of offices and medical facilities, and conference centers, as well as lighting for museums, hospitals, stores, churches, I now spend most of my creative energy on residential and retail design along with consulting as lighting designer for architects, builder and interior designers.

I do the drafting, lighting design, furniture layouts, cabinet and millwork design, tile patterns — the technical aspects of design.
